A Little Bit of Love

I recently watched the inaugural performance of Susan Boyle. My heart was filled with joy. With inspiration. With "I can" feelings for my own personal goals.

Looking at the faces of the three judges, I saw not only admiration but love. Real love for this woman who mere seconds earlier they were just shy of verbally mocking.

LOVE. That's the key to humanity's success. Love is the key to world peace, to tolerance, to getting along with the person who is sitting beside you right now. A little bit of love goes a long, long way and is infectious. Love let's us see who someone IS as opposed to how they LOOK. Love let's us remember that outward behaviours may be caused from inner pain. Love let's us ask another person how he/she is feeling and listens to the answer. Love is round.

This Christmas, I remind you (and myself) that a little bit of love goes a long way. How about, for a change, we all spread it on really thick this season? Imagine the results...

Merry Christmas.

Making Allies

It all started back in the Spring… I was contact by a start-up online option to buying and renting art. No fees up front. Standard commission. I joined.  ArtsAlly.com  officially launched last month. Today I received a few txts from friends congratulating me on my up & coming "hot, local artist" status. Turns out vancitybuz z featured the site and all its artists…including yours truly (#17)! Needless to say I'M PRETTY PUMPED ABOUT THAT.  Please give it a read & pass the sets to your pals. Cheers ArtAlly; I wish you a successful life! OK, I gotta go now and start making more great art. Hopefully I'll move up to #1 ; ) Keep creating! ~ Kathryn

Strutting Creativity

Last night I was fortunate to attend the Museum of Vancouver's opening of Fox, Fluevog & Friends . It's a retrospective of Vancouver's own Fluevog phenomenon. However, I'd like to talk about not what I saw at the exhibit, but rather what I felt: I felt energized. To me, the exhibit celebrates Creativity Expressed. Creating from that deep place of need. Expressing that need like two new lovers in lust - exploding and spilling over with raw, unbridled energy. To me, that is LIVING. Experiences like that reenergize my own creativity. I came home jazzed up with new ideas as well as a "solution" to a block I was having with a painting. I couldn't wait to get into my own stuff. Cheers to both the MOV and those who inspired the exhibit. I encourage you to check it out and celebrate these locals who daily strut their creativity.
